What information Novachi collects

Novachi collects information from you when you register on Novachi site or fill out a contact us form. When registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter yours or your child’s name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number, school or business name, and grade level. Registration is necessary to access secured features of our website.
We use the registration information you provide us to set up your account and allow you to connect with the school in which you or your child is attending. You are also able to send private messages to teachers, parents, counselor, school administrator, or district staff members.

What do we use your information for?

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

  1. To enable safe and secure communication between students, parents, and teachers your information is used to validate against school rosters to ensure accuracy and security of vital information maintained by your school.
  2. To provide security of your information on our website we record your login name, login/logout time and Internet IP address to provide security for the safety of your information on our website.
  3. To personalize your experience (Your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs)
  4. To improve our website we continually strive to improve our offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you. We encourage you to submit suggestions so that we may enhance our website to better serve you.

  6. To send periodic emails to the email address you or your child provide on the registration and “contact us” forms, will only be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your account.

A child’s participation or access to an activity cannot be conditioned on her providing more Personal Information than is reasonably necessary for that activity. Parents have the right to consent to the site’s use of the child’s Personal Information without having to consent to its disclosure of that information to third parties. We currently do not plan to share your child’s Personal Information with any third party unrelated to your child’s school activity. How do we protect your information?

Our third party tracking utility company employs a software technology called clear gifs, that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective.  Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users.  In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence.  We do not tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers’ personally identifiable information.

Parents may access their child’s personal information and exercise their right to refuse further collection and use of their child’s Personal Information, to update, correct, and have their child’s personal information deleted by contacting us at privacy@novachi.org.

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services.  If you wish to cancel your account or request that we no longer use your information to provide you services contact us at privacy@novachi.org. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
